I drove by car from Amsterdam Holland to Lucca. There I discovered a beautifull hotel! Actually it's a "privately" run mansion on the hills in the neighbourhood of lucca called "la cappella (www.lacappellalucca.it) with a swimming pool with beautifull views! The youth Hostel of Lucca is fantastic. It´s well located, inside the walls of the old city (Lucca is one of few north Italy´s cities with walls surrounding the whole center) and huge! It was once a school, and has been reformed. A very good choice if you want to discover liguria coast and nearby cities! Lucca itself is a good discovering.
