Lowell Observatory Jun 13, 2009
Spending the evening here is an inexpensive way to let your kids experience the magic of the night skies and learn about science. There are many hands on exhibits and interactive educational computer simulations that are available in the main rooms before heading out back towards the telescopes.

The larger telescope is just amazing in size and capabilities; however they also have many smaller telescopes that they set up to view various things on any given night.

My kids chose to come here instead of the movie theater (with a bit of coxing) and were lucky enough to get to see Saturn and its many rings. You could even see some of its moons that evening. It was a bit cold out, but they loved it and were glad they went.
