The Wavedancer is a 30 meter catamaran owned by QuickSliver and offeres luxurious comfort as you sail.
Low Isles is situation by the Great Barrier Reef off Port Douglas. Low Isles is a 4 acre coral cay surrounded by 55 acres of reef.
The Wavedancer can only be booked via QuickSilver and with this you have a full days trip to the Low Isles including lunch & snorkling trips / glass bottom boat trip & a tour around the island.
The price for an adult is $142 & a chid is $71, along with this is a charge for the conservation of the Great Barrier Reef $5.. Other charges include any drinks from the bar (only tea/coffee & juice is included in the trip) Another possible charge is the all in one swim suites you are adviced to wear if it is stinger season.
Low Isles consits of its own beach, lagoon, clear waters for snorkling & its own lighthouse (built in 1878 & has guided ships/boats between Cairns & Port douglas). Within the Island is a conservation unit that scientists live within several months out of the year.
Within the reef are various rare marine species; sea turtles, rare corals & various marine birds.
I was very lucky during my visit to not only see reef sharks but also a salt water crocodile! The staff upon the Wavedancer include marine scientists whom take you out snorkling & give you a tour around the island.
The staff are so friendly & also very informative.. The scientist informed us that in her 10 years of going to the island she had only ever seen saltwater crocs & sharks in the sea together once before! To top it all off I swam with sea turtles!! So amazing!
One note of caution to day trippes is that suncream is a must! I used it & used it however still got slightly sun burnt!
This was an excellent day trip & very educational. A must for singles, couples or a family!
