Lovers Leap Southfield Reviews
Magnificent view May 04, 2011
The Lovers Leap was a tremendous high point of the coastline where supposedly two young slaves took their life since they were not able to have each other. The plantation owner apparently fancied the young girl and was therefore going to sell of her boyfriend to another plantation on the other side of the island.
They therefore decided to end their lives at this point of the cliff where you have 500 meters down to the water. There are today two memory poles from where they were supposed to have jumped.
Today there is a restaurant driven by the Jamaican tourist board on the spot. Unfortunately it was closed when we arrived but we managed to have the caretaker to open for us and what a view!
The view was completely spectacular; we had been driving around in rain all day and suddenly the clouds broke up and we were greeted with a marvellous view.
