After more than a year, the destruction still reigns. The 9th district was eerily quiet, trees laid bare, rust taking over, not a single soul inhabiting any of the homes. We did see a couple construction crews working at bringing order to the chaos, even a volunteer corps sporting …

After a few changes in our plans, my mom, sister, and I finally hit the road for our long awaited road trip. It was almost 7:30 a.m. before we were able to "hit the road." After a quick stop at a fast food place for a bite of breakfast, we were on the road again. The weather was c…

Bienvenue! Since I live in New Orleans I wouldn't consider this a travel blog. Just wanted to give everyone out there on TB a small glimpse into a night out on Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. I say small because there is sooo much going on there one would be hard pressed not to be able to have fun or find something to do! Some friends were in town for the N.O. Saints football game so we went out on the town to have a few drinks!

I walked into India House and thought to myself, I'm home! I spent about a year living in hostels/guesthouses and it was soo nice to be back at one among travelers. I seriously just thought I am in my element again. We are about 20 blocks off the French Quarter, but one of the par…

After having been in touch for a couple of weeks, we interchanged phone numbers. The problem was the communication wasn't too good and we got our SMS one hour later. Finally we could talk to each other and agreed to meet. I was walking to the corner we designated at the meeting point, t…

I had it all planned out. Every detail of how I was going to spend my Summer. But a completely different story unfolded. My son was in a near fatal car accident and life as we knew it came to a screeching halt. The hospital sent him home and said he was okay. In less than 48 hours, he almost died a…

Although this was a few years ago, the impact is just as great when I
