Walking along the Boardwalk in the high heat was made a little more bearable when you are doing it with Carlos, Montecarlostar. I really enjoyed meeting up with him. We started out by eating dinner at the Salt Grass restaurant along the Boardwalk in Shreveport, LA. We laughed and enjoyed some great…

The New Orleans Arena was packed for the concert! The show was completely sold out! It was amazing seeing so much people in one place. It must be such a rush to perform in front of so many people! My seat was in the second row from the stage, seat 14.
Night Ranger opened for Journey. They…

Being here is like walking three centures into the past. Many of the french quarter's buildings still retain their 18th century facades, as well as their sometimes spooky histories.
If one doesn't want to wander too far into the haunted past of this area, then there is the always lively Bour…

A FIREFIGHTER'S PRAYER
WHEN I AM CALLED TO DUTY GOD
WHEREEVER FLAMESMAY RACE
GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO SAVE
SOME LIFE WHATEVER BE ITS AGE. HELP ME EMBRACE A LITTLE CHILD
BEFORE ITS TO LATE
OR SAVE SOME OLDER PERSON
FROM THE HORROR OF THAT FATE. ENABLE ME TO BE ALERT
AND HEAR THE WEAKEST SHOUT
AND QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY
TO PUT THE FIRE OUT.
I WANT TO FILL MY CALLING
AND TO GIVE THE BEST IN ME
TO GUARD MY EVERY NEIGHBORAND TO PROTECT HIS PROPERTY.

After fully resting up, we started the day bright and early. We decided to have breakfast at Cafe Du Monde... the oldest coffee stand in N.O. They only serve coffee and beignets (which is French Donuts), and for around $4 you can get a small coffee and a place of 3 beignets. Insid…

My family and I have begun a new tradition to travel for the holidays rather than make a big deal of exchanging gifts. This is our second year now. We went to New Orleans. It was my first time as well as my niece and nephews first. My mom's parents used to live in NOLA so she and my sister had visited often, but not in many many years. It was a reunion and an introduction. I love New Orleans.

Louisiana can be deceptively alluring. At least that's the impression I am left with after having spent the last two days in New Orleans. When the airplane begins its decent from the giant puffed masses of cloud cover, you're suddenly struck by the sight of endless stretches of som…

All I have to say is thank god for Emeril's. He was my saving grace today. In a city known for it's food, it has been suprisingly hard to find something good to eat. I've been visiting all the places to tour books have suggested and haven't been impressed until today. A word to the wise…
