Dec 07, 2005Walk along the beach, or sample the tacky but very fun arcades on the pier, there is so much to do in this bustling city. Spot celebrities and shop til you drop in the lanes, there are lots of individual shops selling beautiful jewellery. You can stop for refreshment in Shakeaway and see if you can finish a whole chocolate orange milkshake topped with Malteasers! Or if hot chocolate is more your thing try the end of the Lanes Cafe, if you go there enough the owner will give you a free one. If you can, go in August for the Gay Pride parade, I missed it, but its an amazing array of colour and costumes that lights up Brighton's streets. In the afternoon laze on the beach, or take a trip to the country on the Devils Dyke bus ( No 77 I think!). Then have traditional fish and chips by the pier and prepare yourself for Brighton's Nightlife! From the clubs by the beach to the more traditional pubs further into the city there is something for everyone. I had an amazing summer there, eventhough I was supposed to be working! |

Bangalore is not a tourist city - there's not a lot to see. But it was good for easy shopping and a glimpse of the new India shining. Lots of expensive shops, lots of western style restaurants, bars and cafes (and at more or less western prices) , lots more obvious sale of alcohol… Cyber city to city by the sea |

Lots of carnival food to make you sick, rides, games, all that stuff... reminded me a lot of the Boardwalk at home. Again, tons of people. We had a little bit of time left, so we went walking around the town to window shop and look… Brighton rocks! (Ah! TERRIBLE pun!) |

Check it if you're ever there ;DBrighton Town (upgraded to city-status about 8 years ago) has lots to offer for everyone, and of course as with all seaside spots is always at its best in the summer sunshine. There are many, many bars (some with live music) strung along the seafront. It has two piers (sort of), plenty… Post cards from Brighton Beach. |
