Losmen Setia Kawan Yogyakarta Reviews
Hidden Gem Jan 07, 2013
We stayed at this guesthouse whilst travelling Indonesia in January 2013, it was recommended in the lonely planet guide and with good reason.
This guesthouse has a number of rooms, however we stayed in the VIP room as there were no other private rooms left. This room got us a private bathroom with hot water, air-conditioning, television and free usage of the internet in the guesthouse. All rooms come with a free breakfast. The room was about 35 AUD per night, however they gave us the room for 30 AUD.
The guesthouse is well located off a small lane way only around 5 mins walk from the town centre. There are a load of good quality cheap restaurants right outside the guesthouse, including Bedhot Resto which is owned by the guesthouse owner.
The guesthouse is well decorated with the owner Bedhot's traditional arkwork and is nice and leafy and cool. They have a number of computers for use, although there is a charge for internet usage. They were able to organise tours to Borobodur and Prambanan as well as a range of other things such as tubing etc.
The room was comfortable enough, however the bathroom did smell somewhat and so we just kept the door closed. The room was fairly quiet, however one night there was some people up on the rooftop patio which we could hear quite easily.
Service was fairly good, as I mentioned earlier they gave us the last room at a discounted price and they arranged our tours and helped us find the train station for onward travel. Breakfast always came out quite quickly and there was always staff around to help with enquiries.
It would be wise to book ahead here as it was fully booked even in the off season.
