great place to hang out and/or eat Nov 24, 2008
Los Perros Wine Bar is a relaxing place to eat or drink at any time of the day. The first room is the bar and the next two rooms have couches and tables. The place is dimly lit and has candles on the tables. The menu has several appetizers, sandwich and dinner options as well as different drinks, and of course bottles of wine!
Our first visit was mainly for wine but also a light dinner (and beer). Since it was later in the evening, the place was filled with people hanging out and drinking (but not drunk). We found a corner of board games, so we helped ourselves to Rummikub as we waited for our food. The service was fast and good. We ordered sandwiches, yucca fries and glazed chicken and then shared. The food was really good and reasonably priced. Our next visit was for lunch the following day and we got sandwiches, which again were really good. It is a nice, relaxing atmosphere to hang out and talk, read, or play games. A wide range of music plays in the background. The only thing I didn’t like was that you can smoke in there. You rarely find Peruvians smoking – usually only tourists. Part of the Amigas Bonita do Peru travel blog |

Los Perros- 'The Dogs' is an excellent restaurant and wine and 'couch' bar. The food is excellent and the service is just as good. I mean in most food joints you have to wait for your food then wait and i mean wait for the bill, not here. Also in a lot of restaurants the food is for Peruvian size people; not here. Don't be surprised if on entering you encounter 2 'perros' they belong to the owner. Our group ate there frequently as the menu is varied. One of our group always ordered the steak with mashed potatoes; i asked him why? He replied: "Because true love is hard to find, and when you find it, you stick with it!" Damn romantic French!! :} The music in the joint is just as varied; you will be listening to Bob Marley then it will slide into the Beatles or a Spanish song or Bob Dylan. Bored go there grab a book from their small library or grab a game and spend some time trying to figure out how to play it! Enjoy!!!!

…guy that already is aware of this, but I just wanted to say it) For a really CHILL bar to just sit and drink theres a place called Los Perros. to get there, theres a street in the middle of the west side of PdA. I think if you walk up that it'll take you right to it. If not, take Av. Plateros straight west and turn right on the first street… Thoughts and Experiences in Cusco |

Los Perros. I wasn’t super excited about this because I don’t really like wine and it was very smoky when we walked in. We sat in the back room where it wasn’t as smoky (until a smoking group came in later… first day in the city of Cusco |

Places worth checking out include: Nortons, Los Perros (the coolest place to eat/hang by far), Mamma Africas, Trotamundos (cozy fireplace and board games) & Rosie O'Grady's. The San Blas neighborhood is exactly the same as the area near the Plaza de Armas. Stay near the Plaza. The churches… My entire Peru journal in one entry |
