Los Esteros de Tumbes Lima Reviews
Good food from Tumbes in Lima at Los Esteros de Tumbes Oct 09, 2009
This restaurant is located near Magdalena Open market. I always saw it crowded and decided to give it a try when we were in the area.
It's a big and old house that was turned into a restaurant. With high ceilings and different rooms. The decoration is simple and the waiters will lead you to the different areas so you can choose the table you prefer. There are also tables outside, at the patio. When we were there, there was a guitar playing performing traditional music, sweet!
As its name says, their specialty is the food from Tumbes - north coast of Lima. They offer several dishes, but we were there for the cebiche and since they are from the north the "conchas negras" are part of the menu. We got a cebiche mixto. It was a good one. The conchas negras didn't have that strong flavor. The seafood was nice, but the fish a bit too overcooked for my taste... I like the fact they give you yuca as side instead of just sweet potato, nice touch!
Staff was friendly and the location was nice too. If you are at the market, this could be a good choice for taking a break
