One $800 airpass = Kelowna BC (Big White), Miami FL, New York NY, Boston MA, Miami FL (again), Key West FL, St John's NFLD, Chicago IL, Whitehorse YK, San Francisco CA, (Vancouver: brief visit home for Chinese New Year's and to unload winter gear), Los Angeles CA, Phoenix/Tucson AZ and too many YYZ visits.

so i've been there before, and as expected, LA was....well, LA.  it's SO friggin crowded. anywhere you want to go, it takes twice that to get there. so, if you're going somewhere 30 minutes away, it'll take you an hr with traffic. crap.  the media does a pretty good job of accurately portraying it's shallowness. i could never live there, but it's a ton of fun to visit. the things that pass as "normal" out there....craziness. went all over the county visiting friends: san fernand…

Thunder and hail--what else would you expect in Southern California? And right when I’m getting on a plane to leave. I’m never here when it rains. . . except when I’m in a plane! I spent a few weeks roadtripping around southren California with my best friend Royce.

I was 17, and excited to be embarking on my first overseas trip without my family. Culture shock, straight up. It was a really valuable trip; I learned and saw a lot. But it was HOT, and Hong Kong was depressing. I ended up taking off a week earlier than planned. I will be back one day.

My very first trip to Europe took me to France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary (sorry... no pictures from Hungary!). There is not much to say about Europe since it is a very well knowm continent by many worldwide travellers..... but Slovakia turned out to be a wonderful place with its unique countryside and carphatian mountains scenery. Prague is undoubtedely the MOST beautiful city I ever seen with such wonderful preserved architecture.

This year was amazing, we managed to do not one but TWO round the world. Once going west using STAR Alliance and another one going east using OneWorld Alliance. Check Photos on each stop!

My AKL-LAX flight was fairly uneventful.  I got delayed a bit due to weather in NZ, but got in with plenty of time to make my transfer in LA.  However... I'm not a big fan of LAX.  I had to exit security... and walk outside... under the hot beautiful CA sun... to the other terminal.  But I'll admit it was kinda nice being welcomed home by immigration agents, etc.  Kinda gave me a boost of energy to make this final push.Of note:  with the transition across the dat…

LA Highlights, and lowlights: Tito's Tacos, and American health care, respectively. Ok, learning to ride a bike pulled  a very close second to Tito's Tacos ;) We're flying out tonight to San Jose, Costa Rica then in the next month, we'll make our way up and around Central America, and then back to LA... and eventually Vancouver. Speaking of, flights need to be booked!

For a day of transit, we just stayed at the airport Marriott and cabbed it to Santa Monica for an afternoon of walking along the ocean, doing some shopping and eating at various cool places there.
