Animal kingdom Jan 29, 2009
Been there in january 2009, the Tenerife Loro Parque claims to be the "must" of the Canary Islands. One can hardly disagree, although there is also a large animal park in the south of Tenerife called Las Aguilas del Teide, with many attractions including daily displays of falconry and other large birds of prey. Loro parque is located on the outskirts of the town of Puerto de la Cruz. It has many attractions; the worlds largest collection of parrots, plus penguins, gorillas, sharks, jaguars, tigers, dolphins, sea lions and alligators... The attraction is public friendly, one can hardly miss any of the animals when doing the complete tour of the Loro Parque with all its various shows. Don’t be put off by the name the parrotshow is the less thing you see there are much greater sowhs, there is so much to see and do not connected with parrots and it really needs a full day to see everything. The Tenerife Loro Parque also has its own website; www.loroparque.com

Make sure you buy a combined 2 ticket one for Loro Parque and 1 for Siam PArk in the south of Tenerife near Playa de las America (see my other review)

great day out May 01, 2009
Has many different animals to view. There is whale, dolphin and sea-lion shows, these are really great to watch. There is fast food and restaurants within this attraction. Great for any age group, there is ramps for those in wheel chairs. There is an aquarium with sharks. There is also a penguin viewing room. All the animals look well treated. This is a highly recommended attraction to visit when going to Tenerife.

Catamaran- Spotting dolphins and whales Feb 04, 2008
I loved this place! Its totally amazing.

We organised all of our excursions via our hotels trip advisor.I think we paid roughly about 80Euros each to go on Catamaran for 3 hours, where lunch was provided. You get a bus which picks you up with the rest of the tourists and drops you off by your hotel bus stop when you finished your excursion.

Firstly, we took the catamaran to go spotting for dolphins and whales. It was really amazing. Once the other catamaran notified that they spotted some whales, we went over there too and saw a half sleeping whale. Truly amazing. And then all of a sudden there was about 30 dolphins out of nowhere jumping out of the water. The driver of the catamaran started to spin the boat round and round to make waves for them and they loved it! They come up right next to the catamaran about a metre away from you and even underneath the boat.

At around 12:30 the lunch that was included in our trip was served. They had warm mini chicken drumsticks, chips, free beer all afternoon - which i suggest for people who are sensitive do not drink before your meal- i felt really sick in the sea drinking alcohol. And some other bits to snack on.after that they stop the catamaran for about 15-20 minutes near the reef's where the water is crystal blue! And you can jump out of the boat to go for a swim (deep water). After the whole sight seeing trip they bring you back to the harbour and you make your way to whatever you have planned next! Overall the staff are friendly and the boat trip was a really good experience, especially if you like animals (which i love). I think going on the catamaran is a must when you go to Spain.

Loro Parque Feb 04, 2008
I loved Loro Parque even though the tickets were about 32 Euros each! But you get a good days of fun.

We took our arranged tour bus to the top of the island - which is a magnificent view! It seemed like we were at the very top of the island and the clouds were below us! Once you walk through the gates of the parque you enter this tropical exotic forest like place, with amazing big fish in the pond! You have a few nice, cosy restaurants in the whole parque. You have about 4 different shows in the park, which include the sea lions, the orcas, the amazing dolphins! The very smart parrot show. All the shows are truly amazing and a must see! Not only the environment is relaxing but its a very nice way to spend your day. Like I said you do pay a bit more than usual, but it is well worth it!
