Loonse en Drunense Duinen Jan 08, 2009
The Loonse and Drunense duinen is a national park situated in the province Noord Brabant, to the south of Waalwijk and it's one of Europe’s largest area’s of drifting sand, it's great to explore is on foot, or with your dog, as I often did.
Dogs must remain on the line in most places in order to protect the animals, which live here. It’s an area with large sand dunes combined with forests and swamps, rich in flora and fauna. But be careful, because it's very easy to get lost here. Many schools go for their school holiday here with each other in tents. There is a good restaurant called: De Roestelberg, where you can drink your coffee and park your car. You can hire a horse, or do a cycle tour through this great area, everything is possible in the Drunense duinen, it's really beautiful there. |
