Loof Reviews

Highly recommended for that easy transition between the end of the workday and the beginning of the party night, especially when you enjoy a somewhat intimate setting under the stars, the surrounding skyscrapers around Marina Bay, City Hall, Raffles Place, and the Bugis area--a bonus if you're actually working in the neighborhood--looking down at you as if to witness your blissful evening. The bar, roofed lounges and inner-sanctum chambers (nifty ones with provocative painted-on human silhouettes on the outside as if to tease the passersby on the street below) provide shelter in case an unanticipated rain wants to witness your drenching.

I'll have to write about all my favorite spots in Singapore before making a grand depature to discover the world out there :)
The Loof's a trendy rooftop bar located in City Hall, on the top of the Odeon Towers. From the Loof, get bedazzled by the many skyscrapers surrounding it, and of course, a decent view of the magnificent Raffles Hotel situated just right across the street. At the Loof, there's a good mix of international cocktails and quirky creations. The beer list's quite decent too for no-fuss gentlement. What's really unique about the atmosphere would be the groovy lounge music and trendy furniture. From the plush sofas, you could also peek into the furniture shop right below the Loof through the transparent flooring. I realized that only after a few visits hehe... The crowd's pretty decent, with a good mix of local yuppies and expats. Everyone's really there for a good get together since the music's not deafening, and hence, there's no worries of some stranger trying to get close with kinky pick up lines :p For those who enjoys bar snacks after dunking too much beers, the Loof has a great snack menu and you'll be spared from the usual nachos and chips. I love the fried squid that are served individually on Chinese spoons. A couple of these are really sinful but the crackling sensation's a wonder not to be missed. The only inconvenience at the Loof would be bad weather. 3/4 of the bar's non-sheltered and on a rainy day, you'd get lucky if you could find a sit. |
