First of all, I do love London. I do not love the expense, but there are many ways to manage to visit and still not come away broken by ending up broke. First of all, taxis cost a bomb. This is a given. Get a day or a week pass for the transportation system - at Underground stations and at some merchants. One of Londons' best deals is the wonderful breakfast baguette. Tasty, filling and comes in usually at under 2GBP. The prices can vary as to neighborhood. Food - if you like ethnic food, Indian buffets abound and are delicious. Shop at a local grocery for simple food items which can be consumed in your room or in a nearby park. There are special coupons for tourist attractions, which also include the National Trust properties. This can be a pound saver. The best part of London is wandering about - there is something for everyone. Research before you go, in order to have some sort of plan of

" attack " for daily sightseeing, but also factor in free time to roam about the city. The Tower of London is well worth a visit. Too much history to ignore and why should you. Oh, remember to give Henry VIII's

armour a good look-see ! That man certainly thought alot of himself ! In a big way ! The jewels, the murder of The Little Princes', the jails

and executuons, Traitor' Gate ! The Beefeaters give a well practiced and very well done walking tour of the grounds and buildings. Do go and spend a few hours soaking it all in. For evening fun, London is crammed

with clubs and party venues, but if you have walked yourself to a frazzle, get a nice pub dinner and relax. Oh, one thing, in case you haven't visited a pub before - you place your order at the bar with the barman / barmaid. The food is generally good and filling and the patrons

are often very friendly. London is a walking city, I think. So much to see and do to be underground too often. It can be done and you don't have to go broke.
