Makes a good day out Feb 24, 2015
Like any zoo, London Zoo isn't cheap to get in. We were really stupid and bought our tickets at the gate when we could have save money by buying them online. Although saying that, my friend did pay for my ticket as a thank you for being part of her wedding :)

London Zoo is a decent size with a wide variety of animals so you don't feel disappointed after buying the ticket. I was really impressed with the aquarium and penguin habitat. We did enjoy watching the penguins get fed! I did have to visit the spider and snake home by myself though :P

My favourite part of the zoo is that they have an area where you can walk through where the monkeys live :) They're obviously used to humans as they don't mind getting too close

This is a great place to take kids as they have a petting zoo where kids can interact with the animals. But, if like us you come without kids, then you can enjoy a beer with lunch while overlooking the penguins. What more can you ask for really! But lunch, like you would expect, isn't cheap so bare that in mind!

Overall this is a good place to go with or without kids to spend a day out in London. Just remember to bring comfy shoes as there will be a lot of walking!

Unique compared to the US zoos Apr 15, 2015
I was very excited when I found my first bird habitat there. They have walk-through areas. You are literally in the habitat with the birds, which still have access to the open air. Again, a walk-through butterfly habitat. Wonderful. The monkey habitat is the same way, except you actually have to worry that they might "borrow" your sunglasses if you leave them out. I'm pretty sure the giraffes are used to visitors as well because they came very close to the fences to see you.
The "caged" birds. Still in cages,…

good family day out Jul 17, 2011
Pretty expensive, book online it will be slightly cheaper, although it is well worth the money.Bring a packed lunch as food onsite is very expensive (almost £4 for a sandwich!!) Don't forget your camera and comfy shoes(lots of walking) The new penguin Beach is lovely, don't know what planet i've been on but i saw an Okapi for the first time-had never even heard of this beautiful animal before,it was so adorable.I thought the giraffes,Okapis and the hunting dogs section was the best. There are lots of animal displays put on throughout the day. Reptile house was amazing-did not think i would like this part but the snakes and lizards etc..were actually quite nice!

Great day out Aug 27, 2009
It isn't terribly expensive to get into, but things inside are quite expensive, such as snacks and souvenirs. But it is a great day out, for pretty much anyone. The zoo is well kept and tidy, the animals are interesting, although when we went the tigers were not there as they had some medical assessment to do, and the Hippos weren't there either. Just try to go outside of school holidays if possible, it'll be much less stressful if you do.

Zoo Trip Jan 21, 2005
So the London Zoo, as with all London attractions, is costly. (Adults pay £17 and kids are £13.50) However, I have been a zoo addict since I was a child and I appreciate the conservation efforts of all zoo's, so the cost is worth it. The walk from the Camden Town tube isn't bad either. If you want a piece of London greenery, the zoo is located at the end of Regent's Park and getting off at the Baker's Street tube would allow you to stroll through the park as well. (And see the Sherlock Holmes monument and museum if you so choose) The zoo has an assortment of animals, as with all zoos.
