April 30 started with me getting some last minute packing before catching my 11:30am flight from San Diego to London via Philadelphia. The flight from SD to Philly was fairly uneventful. The movie Yes Man was playing on the flight so I watched that …hotel, The Acropolis House Hotel in the Plaka district of Athens. The city was quiet of course and I surprisingly found my way to the hotel rather easily. So we arrived in London at around 9AM (it felt like 3 AM) at took the train from Gatwick to Victoria Station. If I had not been so tired, it would have been a lovely train ride! We got thru customs, which was easier than I expected, and hailed a cab…hotel. The cabs are really cute in London, BTW!
We stayed in the Maraton House Hotel in Kensington. Very charming neighbrohood! The inn was a hostel at some point, then converted to B&B style. The rooms were small of course, but at lest… London, Day 1 |

The following is an article that is the result of our trip. We could have made it ten times longer with much more people, as everyone had an interesting story to tell.
