Londa is one of the most popular burial cave as a tourist destination in Tana Toraja. Londa attractions in the village of Sandan Uai, District Sanggalangi. Located approximately 7 kilometers from the southern city of Rantepao, tourism center for tourists. Therefore, Londa easily reached by public transportation such as minibus, taxi, or Car rental or motorcycle.
To reach the site of Londa cave etching, you have to go down some stairs. Make sure before that you hire a lantern petromak from local communities for 25,000, -. To enter the tomb of Londa cave, you really need a lamp as a torch. You can bring your own lantern or ask someone (who also serves as a guide) to take you. The Guides have no set Tariffs, you are free to decide.
At the foot of a high cliff this lush, hidden natural cave is used as a tomb. Arriving at the cave, cool mountain weather will also welcome you upon arrival at the location. On the walls of the cliffs around the cave, you will see a row of wooden statues (tau-tau). Tau-tau are carved wooden figures as close in looks of the person that is buried in the tomb.
Around the ranks of tau-tau the coffins are supported by wood in such a way that the crates are safe in the cliff. There are three ways of burial,a coffin laid in a cave or in a carved stone grave or hung on a cliff. The coffin of nobility or a respectable persons are higher in location in the cliff than the poor.
