Loki Lima Reviews
Loki Hostel - Lima Jun 25, 2016
This Loki is definitely the worst out of the whole bunch. It is not just look and feel that is off, but also the staff members are not interested in anything aside of short answers. Only one of the guys working there smiled at all for the whole three days I was in the place. They are all gloomy, maybe because hostel building is one of the gloomiest I have seen in a while. They decided that it is a cool idea to color floor with black color. I mean, they are right, it is easier to keep this place dirty without anyone noticing it, but it also looks like garage with tar spilled all over.
Entrance door is kind of hidden between few other doors and there are actually two doors that are opening after one is closed. Looks like jail system hehehe. Loki is famous for being a party hostel so do not expect that you are going to sleep with crickets and birds… It is more like drunken surf boys playing beer pong till 2am. They did bad sound isolation in this place, and pretty much they have three large windows on the roof that are open so that buys can have air and that people that smoke can have some cleaner alternative to their clouds. The “smoke room” is total disaster because it is in one “in-between area” that is kind of separating bar and reception area. In order to get to the kitchen or to the TV area you’ll have to go through this room, so there is no effective separation, and things are done just pro forma…
Private rooms are up on 4th floor but that was not a problem because I was on the 4000m for a month and few staircases were not going to make me breathe harder. Room is not set up nicely, but bathroom is very good and functional. There is hot water all the time, and they give soft towels for use. There are no lockers in the room, price is around 30$. I did move to the 6 person dorm next day. Beds are very good and sturdy, there is no much space on the second floor to the ceiling. Bathroom was on the mid-level entering strange small doors and stepping down the stairs that during the night call for disaster. All was pretty clean and swell.
There is no free breakfast but you can get pretty good plates from extended menu. Instant coffee is always available and it does not taste that bad. Few game tables include Billiard, table-tennis, and board for beer pong. There is a board with information on games, parties and places to go for after parties. Reception area has bunch of small lockers for your valuables, and few of them have power sockets inside. There is a bag room where you can keep your stuff after the check out. Check out is very relaxed 1pm and that works the same with all Loki’s.
Can’t recommend this place and next time I am looking for the better stay.
