Lohr Am Main Vacation Guide

Lohr am Main is a town located in Franconia in Bavaria, Germany.
The town lies on the river Main and is known as "The Gate to the Spessart" because of it's geographical location at the foothills of the Spessart forest.

Its town center features many treasured and nicely renovated framework houses, part of them being under protection of historic buildings.

A few steps from downtown lies Lohr Castle, which Lohr claims to be the original home of Brother Grimm's Snowwhite, as there seems to be some evidence.

Lohr is surrounded by forests with a lot of scrupulously maintained foot- and cycleways, which makes this neat town the perfect starting point of relaxing bike or hiking trips.
