Loch Ness boat tour - What's that in the water?!
Loch Ness boat tour - Urquhart Castle at Loch Ness. This is where we took the half hour boat ride on Loch Ness to our waiting tour bus. This cost GBP15 and is optional.
Loch Ness boat tour - Interesting stone at the other side of Loch Ness.
Loch Ness boat tour - Glencoe - the temperature was only 12 degrees but the breeze made it a lot colder. A few hours from Edinburgh.
Loch Ness boat tour - The Royal Mile was the most exciting street in Edinburgh in August.
Loch Ness boat tour - The deep, dark Loch Ness. Still not revealing its secrets to anyone.
Loch Ness boat tour - Hamish, the highland icon. Friendly and curious he was.

Affordable one day Highlands/Glencoe/Loch Ness tour Aug 21, 2011
The 12 hour tour was really fantastic! The tour bus was clean and the guide who was also the bus driver was really knowledgeable. First we went to Glencoe, a beautiful scenic valley flanked by deep lush green rolling hills. The driver told us about the history and interesting facts. We proceeded to the Highlands and finally Loch Ness. Nessie was not to be found ... :) but the half hour boat trip was amazing especially when the cool breeze swept past my face. The water in the lake was amazingly dark - navy blue to black in color.

I got the tickets from the shop just at the entrance to the Edinburgh Castle. GBP38 + optional boat trip at Loch Ness GBP15.

Food and beverages were not included but we did stop a few times for lunch and tea.

A visit to the Inverness and Loch Ness area would not be complete without a boat trip out on Loch Ness itself. While it's never been proven or disproven that the Loch Ness monster exists, you'll run into many a person in Inverness who will tell you without hesitation that the beast exists. Many of the boaters share this belief and will, for a small fee, take you out on the loch so you can see for yourself. The best have multi-level boats, with state of the art sonar equipment. Some habe sonar images of a large object in the water. Others have captured pictures of the beast itself. Whether you believe it or not, it's great fun going on on the Loch and enjoying a boat ride while letting your imagination fun free. Who knows, you may just see something...

What does this reviewer believe, you ask? Well, maybe the picture answers that.
