Loch Morar Walk Aug 28, 2011
The walk along loch morar is a very easy one a fairly good path exists most of the way and it is fairly level only a few small climbs ,Take the road signed for Bracara and follow this till it ends at an old chapel then take the gravelled path and follow keeping the Loch on your right over the next few miles there are a few paths signed to other places don't take them stay on the path untill it veers away from the loch and cross a small bridge next to a croft house called Swordlands there is a track to the right soon after this that leads to a shooting lodge don't take it stay on the path now veering gently left away from the loch and gently going uphill between to steep and rocky hills this now goes down hill to Tarbet a small crofting community if you get here before 3 pm then there is a ferry "The Western Isles " that sails from Mallaig and will return you to Mallaig or walk back the way you came.

It is best to book and pay for the ferry in mallaig before you do the walk this guarantees you a place as in summer it is sometimes full?, note the ferry only runs monday to Friday. On this walk it is possable to see Golden Eagles Sea Eagles and Red Deer
