So there I was, setting out from Port Lockroy, after the exhausting experience of canoeing all the way there from Bridlington (More on this in my upcoming travel blog: 'Great Fictional Canoe Journeys of Our Time!')... Anyway, I was trudging through the snow, in search of something to do, maybe a decent pub - preferably one where the chef does something interesting with penguins - when I saw this magnificent vision before me.

In the shadow of yonder mountain, there he was. Rarer than the Yeti, more splendid than a Woolly Mammoth, bigger than King Kong himself... Yes, it was He. In Person. The Giant Antarctic Snow Bunny. Looming forth from the slopes of the nearby mountain, like a cute fluffy rabbit apocalypse, he skipped towards me through the snow, darting his eyes here and there as if searching in vain for a carrot the size of the Space Shuttle...

I screamed in terror, wet my pants, and fled off into the night - never again to set foot in this strange, terrifying, and above all, very very white land.

You didn't think he existed, did...
