Living Colours Diving Resort Bunaken Reviews
Dive Resort with great food and staff Oct 14, 2009
Most importantly the divemasters were very professional ... they gave good pre-dive briefings and always emphasised that this is a holiday and you should not rush your dive preparation. As we’re both quite new in the sport, we had one dive master for the both of us.
The dive sites are good with plenty of variety but our problem is we've been to some of the best in the world despite our relative inexperience.
The chalets are spacious with a big deck and bathroom. Beds are equipped with mosquito nets, but you probably don't need them. You'll feel the breeze from the fans better without them.
The meals at Living Colours were amazing. Every lunch or dinner had rice and/or noodles plus a chicken, fish, vegetable dish (cooked in mild Indonesian or Chinese style) plus some deepfried goodies (eg. prawns, nuggets).
Bunaken island has problems with water supply. As there hadn’t been any rain for four months, the water supply from the well had gone salty.
Showering off after the dives or in the evening, it only takes a couple hours before one gets sticky again ... in this humid weather, the salt seems to absorb the humidity and leave a sticky feeling all over unlike in dry weather where it simply leaves a dry salty coat. It just makes you want to tear your clothes off and stand in the breeze.
So, you now know ... there is no air-conditioning. I understand that all resorts on Bunaken would have the same water issue and also no air-conditioning.
