Arriving in Camp Bucca the heat was difficult to adjust to 150 degrees during the hottest part of the day and about 430 am it would be only a mere 90 degrees...... We had a little bit of time to acclimate... But after adjusting, the heat was intense until Oct when the fly season was terrible. The flys get in everything. The winter months are not to bad, one will need a hat and gloves and a medium weight jacket to keep warm. But then the flys come out again in March and die off in April. The sun rises early and sets late. The sun rises are absolutely beautiful... You can hear the music of prayers during prayer time off in the distance... At night it is pretty desolate, but you can see a few lights off in the distance. Aside from the water restrictions due to the dry climate. There is a bit of humidity and a moist breeze everynow and again. The sandstorms, wow.... need I say more. Cover up! And rainy season in Jan and Feb.... wow, when it rains, it rains... Over all I enjoyed my time there and would love to go back. The locals from Um Kasar were very nice and fun to work with. Our accomodations were decent, with air condition only , no heat. Walking distance to the trailers that had the toilets and farther walking distance to the trailers that had the showers. Good times at Camp Bucca "Resort"
