Liverpool Ferry Reviews
Ferry accross the Mersey May 20, 2011
Yes as the Song suggests there actually is a ferry across the river Mersey in Liverpool. There are 3 stops to this ferry being the one on Liverpool city centre side and 2 on the other side of the river locacted on the Wirrel. The one on the liverpool side is by the 3 Graces at a location called the Pier Head, this then travels to Woodside and then on to Seacombe before coming back to the Pier Head in a full loop.
At Woodside terminal you can get off there to see the U-boat Story Museum, where you can actually see a World War 2 U-boat. The prices for the ferry is £1.60 for a single or £2.50 for a return during the morning and in the afternoon its £2.50 for a single and £3.50 return. There are also one day cruises you can go on which is at selected times of the year (website located below)
I find this a very relaxing journey and usually just get the single and do the full loop, while taking picture of the Liverpool skyline, the full loop takes around 30 minutes to complete and there is a little cafe in there selling refreshments and sandwiches, which i must say is quite expensive. Over all i would recommend to go on the worlds most famous ferry and look at liverpool city centre from a different perspective.
