Not even half an hour outside of OKC, I have another run-in with Johnny Law. Well, this guy was more like Cletus-law, and boy howdy! He sure was a prick! He pulled out of a tree-filled median and followed me for about 5 miles or so. I saw a gas station at the next exit, so I…

There are mangroves in Arkansas--no pictures if asked to hand over evidence of
said obviously random fact. Apparently 75 mph and a cement rail with tree cover
doesn't lend for picture taking. Who knew? Personally, I was hoping for have a
monument erected as a replica of my picture. It will …

After doing these road trips for a few years, I've come to understand that each state has a specific feel to it, and that definately carries over into driving. The roads change in every state, as soon as you cross the border. Arkansas is a fairly nice state to drive through. I've …

I spent a 3 day business trip in Little Rock, Arkansas. Little Rock is a small city with a great waterfront district. Dinner at Rumba's was excellent, the President Clinton Library is a must see, and the people are very hospitable.

It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!)
Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd....
All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.

This morning I woke up in Little Rock and, since I had been to tired the night before to leave my hotel room, I spent some time exploring downtown before checking out the Peabody hotel. Downtown revolves around a newly created/restored river walk district. It was very tourist friendly without being…

We arrived home without any problems. Customs was a much better experience than the last time we traveled. We were met at the airport by our kids and parents, who were ecstatic to see us! Can't wait to show them their presents! And I hope we can take the kids on a trip like this sometime!
