Little Poland was recommended to me by a friend who would stop there daily for breakfast before going to class at NYU. Small, homey dinner in downtown Manhattan, it's like your Polish grandmother is in the kitchen cooking you up a meal. The pirogies are basic but fabulous, and you can have them fried or boiled. Fried potato pirogies are my favorite, but they have spinach, sauerkraut, and cheese among others. One order of pirogies it filling enough to be a meal, but if you're really hungry, you can add on a side of kasha (buttery oats) or chicken soup.

Plus it's cheap! You will walk out easily with paying less than $10 a person. Three of us ate for $20, and we got amazing polish food.
