Little Corn Island Overview
Little Corn Island is a fantastic, get-away retreat on the Carribean side of Nicaragua. Accessible from Big Corn Island via a 45 minute water taxi, the island has a tiny port and no roads or cars making it an idyllic retreat for beaching, fishing and snorkeling/scuba diving. Areas of the reef are
The inhabitants are all friendly, colorful and fun and there are lots of great little home-style restaurants around the island in addition to the small hostels and hotels. Most of the island only has electricity from around 5pm-5am. The eastern side is the windy side and feels cooler during the day.
Getting there is a little tricky but you can book flights on La Costena airlines into Big Corn island where it is easy to get a cab to the port for the quick but bumpy boat ride over.
The currency is the cordoba but they also take american dollars if they are in good condition meaning no rips/tears.
