Easy hike, beautiful view Dec 09, 2015
The road to Little Adam's Peak is just a short stroll from Ella Town. I went early in the morning and the weather was nice and brisk, if a bit overcast. On the way, there was a sign nailed to a tree on the road that warned tourists of robbers, and there were a few barking stray dogs along the way.

The trail was well-worn and a fairly easy hike with steep stairs as I approached the summit. By the time I got to the top, most of the clouds and mist had burned off, offering a breathtaking view of mountaintops as far as the eye could see. If you take the shortcut to Demodara Nine Arch (Nine Arch Bridge) from Little Adam's Peak, beware of leeches, especially if it rains the night before.

It is gorgeous up there, isn't it? Not too serious a climb though for the views you get.

Nice easy walk through the plantations to a view Nov 01, 2012
If the thought of climbing Adams Peak scares you it is wise to do the baby walk Little Adams Peak a nice 30 minute ambient stroll through town and winding roads through the tea plantations the last bit is slightly steep steps. It shold not take you longer then 1hr depending on your fitness. Going in the morning to see the sunrise or at night time for sunset (take a torch) the views are spectacular.

If you fancy a beer or pot of tea you can stop at the 5* resort 98 acres is signposted nearby. There are plenty of people climbing with only narrow steps so it may lengthen your journey time but makes for nice friendly chats.

Little Adams Peak Sep 10, 2011
One of the shorter hikes you can do from Ella goes up the minor hill Little Adams Peak. Most people should be able to do the hike up the peak in about an hour and a half. Making it a perfect walk for people with limited time - if you get up early in the day you should be able to do the hike before catching a train towards your next destination. If you arrive late in the day you can even do the hike as well - but only in the dry season since you are likely to get lots of afternoon rain during the rainy season.

You find the hill about a kilometer down the main road from Ella when you get there it’s a short hike up the hill. From the top of the hill you will have a great view of the surrounding landscape which is well worth the walk up there. If you are a bit lazy you can probably find a tuktuk to take you to the foot of the hill so you save the two and a bit kilometer you have to walk along the road if you go all the way from Ella. The hike along the road isn’t super interesting but the traffic is fairly light along this road so you are not bothered by many cars and trucks overtaking you when you walk.
