Day 1|
I began my journey through Lisbon by tram. Spent day to tour in tram 28 (Martim Moniz-Campo de Ourique). I bought a daily pass (www.carris.pt) so I can explore all by myself and to treat myself to some astonishing places and sights.
Some places in Lisbon that you have to visit: S. Vicente de Fora, take a look at the Church, particularly the tiles which are based on some La Fontaine tales. Visit Feira da Ladra (Flea Market), where you can buy really cheap second-...

Well i really have enjoyed Lisbon. it is such a beautiful place. i have been so glad that this is where we decided to end our trip. We have gone from East to West. I would recoment Lisbon to anyone who wants to go somewhere to relax and enjoy the beautiful place. i am sure there could have been so many more things we could have done here if we had the energy left, but walking all over the place has been a lot of fun. we decided to go out for dinner tonight....

I had really looked forward to this vacation because I just love Portugal and I was actually the first real vacation for my girlfriend Kaija ever!! I was happy to come to Portugal because I have some of my best memories from this country and I love the people and the food - and the sun....
We arrived late in the evening and hurried to the hotel in the rented car - even though it was midnight when we checked in, we took a drive around in Lisboa just to feel the atmosphere of the city and...

I have been here for almost 2 weeks and it has been a good visit. As I said in my introduction, this city is underrated. In many ways, Lisbon is more interesting and visitor friendly than the more commonly visited cities in Europe like Paris, London, etc. There is a lot of intreresting architechure here than in most cities, and not as dispursed. It is a bit cheaper here than the other big cities, although still expensive by US standards. Be ready to climb up and down hills like a go...

Within two years after I returned to Canada from my tramp around the world, I had itchy feet. A summer trip to the arctic wasn't going to cut it, but I also knew I would have to figure out a way to fund my on-the-road ambitions, and so I decided to get certified as an English as a Foreign Language instructor. I looked around and, taking into consideration tuition and living expenses and my level of interest in the country, settled upon Lisbon as the place were I would take my courses and do m...

I tried to make the most out of being in a sunny place. Really I did. Ok so one day I did nothing but sleep but it was because of a cold I felt coming on. Anyway, when I got in, the hostel I originally booked for did not have my reservations. Extremely jet lagged I cursed under my breath but asked if there was anything they could do or if they had any open rooms. They did not, but they did find me another hostel just as good. As it turns out the place was on my list of good Lisbon hostel I'd ...

My visit to Lisbon started out with me accidentally leaving one of my bags at the airport. I didn't realize it until I was at my hotel that evening and I couldn't find some of my items. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun the next morning taking a taxi back to the airport and getting the customs people to let me back in the baggage area to reclaim the bag. I found it though. Success!!My hotel room had a fabulous view of the city. The hotel (sorry, I can't rememb...

As we were deciding to take the train from Madrid to Lisbon, we were offered the choice of our own overnight cabin or a shared one. With my luck, if we were to get a shared cabin, it would not be with Inga and Gretchen of Sveeden, so we elected to get a private cabin. We left at 11pm we were sleeping just fine, till around 1am when this bitch just starts knocking on our door, in a rush to get in. I'm struggling to wake up and open the door at the same time, in the dark....sh...
