Outta town Apr 14, 2012
This Marriott was not the shining gem that most are. The location is a little out of town. The club lounge is on the weak side. Beers and snacks is about as much as you can expect. The breakfast was alright. I love the Marriott points, but would highly recommend a place closer to the action. I stayed here a couple years ago, hope the out of town part helps anyone. Can't remember the gym or internet situation. It took maybe an hour to walk from the hotel to down town. So unless you have time to burn, its a taxi ride.

Not my favorite Marriott Sep 15, 2011
This property was a short cab ride away from the airport and the center of Lisbon. Unfortunately, it did not meet the standards that one would expect from a Marriott. The first room that we had was noisy due to the piping in the walls. There was hair from the previous guest in the bathroom, and the shower curtain smelled of mildew. The front desk did not seem prepared for how busy the hotel was at the time, and in changing rooms due to the noise, the first agent that promised to take care of it while we were out touring did not do what she said she would, nor did she place notes on our reservation regarding the situation. We ordered room service a few times, and one of the hotel employees that delivered our food would knock on the door and just walk in without allowing us to answer the door. The first time we ordered room service took an hour to get our sandwiches.

1. Typical Marriott(Everything you would expect)

2. Nice restaurant under the lobby

3. Not very expensive

4. Rooms are a nice size(by European Standards)

5. Great views of the city(if you get a room on a high floor)

1. Internet is not free

2. Location(have to take a taxi if you want to go anywhere)

Conclusion: I would definitely stay there again.

Reliable Marriott quality Mar 17, 2009
Good quality is to be expected with the Marriott name, but as I've just joined this site and want to be a little active I'll start with the first hotel I stayed at on the recent journey.

The rooms are plush. The service was impeccable. My stay included both the breakfast and use of the Lounge. The food in both was quite good.

The location is a little out of the main touristy areas, but close enough to grab a very quick taxi ride or it's about a 10 minute walk from a Metro station. Being a fan of just hopping on the Metro, I got a 5 day Metro pass (good for busses and trains), caught a bus in front of the hotel when I didn't feel like walking to the Metro and was where I wanted to be in no time.

The biggest downfall in my opinion was the wi-fi. It was only available for an expensive added cost and (from what I heard...didn't buy it) not a great connection. In today's market I just don't understand why a mom n pop cheap hotel can have good wi-fi, but an otherwise excellent hotel doesn't.

Thumbs up on the Marriott though and I will be back.

Pleasant hotel near the Lisbon Zoo Jul 24, 2008
The Marriott Lisbon is a quality hotel typical of the Marriott brand. The rooms were large and spacious with very comfortable beds, TV, and safe. The bathrooms were also large and well equipped. The desk staff was helpful, with at least several people who spoke English. Computer terminals with internet access are available in the lobby and I was even able to get a voltage adaptor to use during my stay. The pool was pleasant but somewhat busy during the day. The restaurant was average for most meals but served a very good (albeit expensive) breakfast buffet (the hotel offers both a bed and breakfast or no meal option with the stay).

The hotel is a bit far from the major tourist attractions or restaurants in the area, but the nearest metro stop is the Zoo stop (about 4 blocks).

NOTE: I am not sure what the nightly rate is normally, as I booked for $120/night (USD) on
