Eh, free, but boring Mar 15, 2011
Eh, if it's your first time in Vegas or you are trying to see Vegas on a budget, the lions are a worthy stop. If you have small children, it is worth dropping by the MGM and getting lost in the crowd for a few minutes, but otherwise, I'm not sure how much of a grand sepctacle they are.

Most times, they just lie there. When they lie directly on the tunnel you walk through to get to the store, it kinda funny to see them mushed up against glass, but otherwise, they aren't really interactive.

Sometimes, there's someone in there with them, but they aren't doing much either and they are not guaranteed to always be behind the glass and within view. However, the store, has lots of lion-themed trinkets you could spend your money on. You can cross the Lion Habitat off of your list of "free things to see or do in Vegas", but the habitat is small and they should really come up with another name, like glass room, viewing area, or small den.

I don't think that will be top of my 'places to visit' list! But thanks for sharing though :)

I really enjoyed the lion habitat when I visited back in 2005. You are right they dont do much most of the time but I really like lions. I had no idea MGM had a lion habitat until we walked across it.

Its free at least when i went, but it was crowded other then that it is a neat thing they did, it is all incased in glass. And a high light of the hotel...but if u walk on threw the shops and resturonts u can find your self lost verrry fast! Its also kinda of one way or find your self stuck and lost threw out slot machines. Best shopping after you see the lion habitiat...go to the planet hollywood geting lost in slot machines there

Million dollar Lion Habitat Mar 19, 2011
Check this out to see how many millions of dollars spent on lion habitat.

Don't miss to take a picture with lion cub. Usually lions here are calm and sleep most of its time so don't expect anything wild here.

You will love the lions!! Nov 16, 2008
What could be better than a free attraction in Las Vegas?? If you are staying at the MGM Grand (or are in the area) you should really stop over and check them out. The habitat opens daily at 11am and due to the crowds, you should get there about 15 minutes before hand. This is the time when I believe they are most awake and interactive. Ultimately, you can go at anytime throughout the day - I believe it closes around 9 or 10pm. The lions will pretty much sleep a good portion of the day, but they are still magnificant creatures to see up close and personal. There is a glass walkway where the lions tend to sleep on top of, which provides an amazing view. Any animal lover can appreciate their beauty.

Lions!!! Sep 21, 2008
The Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand Hotel Casino is something you should plan to do. First off it’s free, and in a beautiful hotel. And after looking at the lions through the Plexiglas you can gamble in the Casino! =)

I think the major tip for this is to be sure to go during feeding time or play time. We must have gotten there after, or maybe before… LOL! The beautiful Lion was asleep! But the cool thing was that we were able to walk underneath the lion while it slept on the plexiglas.

Very cool!

Can’t wait to go back and try to catch them PLAYING! ;)

Still loved taking the pics! =P
