In remembrance of the Honorable President Lincoln Oct 25, 2011
In remembrance of our sixteenth president I recommend anyone to come visit the tomb where he was buried. It may be a little awkward for some but the experience is not what you think. When you arrive at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, you will see many other graves there. The cemetery itself is pretty large with many streets throughout. There are signs to his exact location of the tomb, and his actual burial site is many feet below the famous tomb.

Outside the gigantic replica statue of him standing is directly in front, for people to see from afar. The tomb has stairs leading up to his statue on the sides but has now been closed of to the public to walk up. The tour guide informed tourists that day, it was decided by the government to close it off for safety of others. It definitely is a sight worth coming to see and your heart will be flooded with his passion as if he were living today.

Inside I adored the many writings on the plaques, and walls of his life achievements. Most importantly the wife whom he left behind for years, that later joined him right there next to him. One son was buried in Arlington, VA. No matter what the other people say Abraham Lincoln is buried right there in Springfield, IL.

The cost is free to roam inside and photograph all the photos you like. I recommend yet again to all of man kind. When you visit know that the honor I felt and still have you will adopt if you haven't already, President Lincoln will never be forgotten.

Lincoln's Tomb May 11, 2010
Abraham Lincoln's tomb is located in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. Oak Ridge Cemetery is the second most visited cemetery in the United States after Arlington, because of Lincoln's tomb.

Inside the tomb is Lincoln's gravemarker, he really is buried here, contrary to different fold legend. His wife, Mary Todd Lincoln and three of his sons are buried here as well.

Also inside the tomb are replicas of various Lincoln monuments from around the country. Upon entering the tomb, there is a brief history lesson about Lincoln and his death and burial. The tour guide was very friendly, and also came outside and gave us some more information. Such as, the sculpture outside are made from recycled Civil War cannons. Outside, there is a bust of Lincoln, and you are to rub his nose for luck.
