Tranquil Nature May 10, 2010
The Lincoln Garden and Trails are beautiful. I visited mid-morning on a Saturday and walked the Lake Trail, going by Lake Springfield. It was so tranquil and peaceful.

There are several different trails, and they are very well-kept. The wood chips were packed and the width was probably five feet or so, making it easy to pass others enjoying the trails. This was actually the first time I'd ever walked a trail, and found this particular one to be easy, not strenuous at all. There were a few runners out as well.

There is a nature center that provides information and souvenirs, as well as nature classes, but it is only open Tuesday - Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 1-4. Whereas, the trails are open sun-up to sundown daily.
