I was very excited heading into Costa Rica, I felt like I was finally visiting somewhere different then the island in the Caribbean.  Since many of the main attractions in Costa Rica were far from the port, we decided to take a tour with Carnival that would take us to the Dole banana plantation and a ride through the rain forest canals.
