What is Limerick without a limerick or two!
He's lucky that she isn't telling,
Despite all her dad's angry yelling.
That mark on her neck
was more than a peck,
and could cause abdominal swelling!
----------
A man after drinking a potion
Claimed he could swim cross the ocean
He was less than half over
Then got mighty sober
And said this was not a good notion

Upon our arrival in Limerick, our Globus bus driver, Timmy met us instead of the tour director. He said that our director wasn't able to pick us up because he was "out late the night before and had a hangover "and hence was still sleeping! At first we thought he was joking but found out later in the trip that it was the truth! The bus took us to the Jury's Inn Limerick and our rooms were not ready since it was before noon, so we were allowed to keep our luggage in a room near the fr…

i've finally managed to escape the oh-so-fascinating world of hedge fund finance, and am now decadently indulging my long-suppressed wanderlust with 15 months on the road and around the world... *note: apart from the odd review (generally of something not found in your standard guide book), this is really more just a map of my travels than a proper blog, but if you want more information on anywhere i`ve been or what i`ve been up to, send me a message and i`ll see if i can rustle something up.

I left Dublin in a hurry when a job didn't seem close at hand. Not because I didn't like it, but I felt my time would be better spent seeing the rest of the country than sitting in a Dublin hostel waiting for phone calls that would never come. Once I gave up the idea of handing out resumes, I was able to escape my computer and parade through the town like all the other tourists. I roamed the streets, checked out the city museums (which included very well-preserved 2000-year-old "Bog Bodies" t…

Hey, so today was the first real day after the jetlag that is. Went out with some girls to the pub last night, it was called the Corner Flag and there was a guy playing a guitar and singing bad American pop music. We left after a pint and when a pop/techno version of Stand By Your Man started to be played. Some guy at the pub managed to spill three Guinesses on himself and his wife/girlfriend/friend. It was pretty funny. Anyway, woke up at 8 this morning, went to break…

Okay after most of us enjoyed our day off from the tour, we were getting a bit restless. The only really big thing planned for today was our return trip to Bunratty Castle. After waking up to a proper Irish breakfast (talk about bad for you), we headed back to Shannon. Apparently Bunratty is one of the few towers left in Ireland. Which I find hard to believe while driving around...it looked like every other person had a castle in their back yard.
The castle was find and all. But the best pa…

I visited the Eastern Region and Dublin, the Capitol. I browse to the Guinness Storehouse, Temple Bar, The Hard Rock Cafe and Dublin Bay. Then I ventured to the Shannon Region to meet the Travbuddies at the Get Together and visited Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Limerick, Blarney Castle and kissed the Blarney Stone and finalized the trip at Cork.
