Limassol Overview

Limassol (Lemesos) is the second largest city in Cyprus and has a deep-water port where regular cruises set sail for the Holy City in Israel or the Pyramids of Egypt. There are no natural beaches in Limassol but there are a few man-made ones, such as Ladies Mile situated west of the new harbour.

Limassol is located on the southern coast of Cyprus between Paphos and Larnaca, founded out of two ancient cities known as Kourion and Amathus. Famous for its many festivals, it is the largest port city in the country and holds a significant economy on trade and tourism. The cities population is integrated with Greek, Turkish and Armenian Cypriots. The city is landmarked with Limassol Castle which is located in the Old Town.

Must see sights/attractions include: the medieval castle, the Archaeological Museum, the Folk Art Museum and the Public Garden to name but a few.
