Just like Los Angeles, only less skyscrapers, and more beautiful! There was a bit of smog and grafitti, but I'm guessing that can be found in any major city. My parents thought the grafitti was a shame, but I thought the grafitti was very artistic...funny, no?There are many, many cathedrals to be s…

Once in the States I met a nice guy. We became friends and kept in touch. Originally I was supposed to go to Austria in order to start my Master Degree and in…

Peruvian food has become the new French, Chinese or Italian. A tasty trip to Lima has a very simple recipe: don’t drink the water, lunch at Donofrios, lucuma ice cream anytime, buy hippy trinkets in Barranco, stay at the Ariosto, shop for arts and crafts at the mercaditos in Miraflores, dinner at Rosa Nautica, and an almost historic tour by private cab to the Centro de Lima. If you learn to say pisco sour you will have a great time. Music lovers, find La Peña Don Porfirio.

The sun over Lima did something unexpected and came out. It made the morning slightly less oppressive as Sindy hailed a taxi to get us to the bus depot in central Lima. The driver seemed to be the same guy who was driving the combi the night before.I was impressed with the Movil Tours bus which had…

We arrived in Lima around 11:00 PM and since we had just brought backpacks as carry-on we wasted no time and exchanged some money in the airport so we could pay the taxi-found the taxies recommend by GAP and took off to our hotel where we were to meet the rest of our group.
Got to the small…

In Lima I
toured San Francisco Church. There were lots of hip, skull and leg bones in the
church catacombs. I liked the wooden dome roof above a staircase and the
library with the old books and spiral stairs. The religious artwork did not
seem to have as much indigenous themes. I liked the Last…

I can´t quite believe that this time last year I would have been repacking my bag for the hundredth time making sure I´d got everything, filled with nervous excitement about what was to come. I´ve got about twelve hours to kill before heading off to the airport and am filled with those same feel…

I woke up this morning to find that I could not bend my right leg anymore. Apparantly I've been walking a little bit too much the last couple of days.I managed to pack my things just in time to catch the bus to the airport, because today I was going back home. First there was a one hour flight to L…

Finally arrived in Lima last night. After a week of camping, tents full of sand, cold showers etc - having a hotel room feels like the height of luxury.
