I guess this entry might be the last entry of my endless blog. This blog became much longer than expected, which made me really happy since it means I met several people here in Peru or anywhere else. I wish, I'd never end this blog, but I have to accept its difficult to go through all the entries of the blog. Therefore I decided to start a new one at Sept 25th. Why did I choose these date? Well, because it's my TB's anniversary. I guess I should celebrate it as a Birthday, haha. But does t…

I didn't have plans for today. I was working during the day and got a message from Mal. He had big news and wanted to talk about it. So we agreed to meet. I wouldn't be doing anything outrageous. I would just go to get my nails done and guess what. Malvin decided to join me, haha. He arrived to my house around 5pm with a present for me, awwww so sweet. I love my new bracelet and it has a story, haha. Mal told me the big news: He's flying to Singapore next morning. What?!?! I couldn't believe …

It was Tuesday when mom decided to have a party at home. I was expecting something quiet, but nothing can be quiet when she's meeting TB's. There were 7 people!!! All were speaking in English, so I didn't understand anything, but totally understood all of them liked me, hehe. They were hanging out and chatting without even looking at me.. until Mal decided to go out and play with me. Thanks, Mal!!!After that everyone wanted to play with me, haha. Jered & Beth have a dog, Lance's dad …

Waking up today without having to meet TB's felt so strange... I missed all my friends. These past few days have been incredibly fun because of you my friends!!!I feel so happy that TB's and non TB's from different countries and even continents could meet in Lima. We all rocked. Everywhere we went, we became the center of the attraction and not only because we looked different and spoke different languages, but also because we all were so happy and laughing the whole time. Everybody could not…

It seemed to be yesterday when I joined this site. It's still difficult for me (don't know about the rest, but I guess it's much more complicated for them) to believe how committed / addicted  to this site I am. No complains at all about this addiction. I enjoy it!!!How did I join this site? Well, I was browsing on Facebook and saw one little cute map. I wanted one too, just clicked and that was the beginning of this endless and full of fun adventure. At the beginning I was thinking I jo…

Lima, Peru -›
After a great sleep (meetup recovery), I even had the energie to work-out before I met up with the group for lunch in Miraflores. Ok, this time I arrived to the right church to find 5 or 6 TB's waiting. We walked to Mango's a nice place perched on the top of a bluff overlooking the Sea. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to continue my introduction to Peruvian cuisine so I immediately ordered an Inca Kola and asked about Ceviche. I thought maybe it would be a small taste …

A month in Lima
posted by:

On 17th of September I met Susan (sweetlovercat85) from San Borja, Lima. After meeting in Miraflores and thinking about what we could do we decided to head for the district of San Miguel to go to the Parque de las Leyendas, Lima´s main zoo. In the park you can see species from around the world but most of all from the three different natural regions of Peru: la costa, la sierra y la selva (the coastal, mountain and jungle region). Parque de las Leyendas is not the best zoo I´ve ever b…

Getting ready for the adventure...

Finally we arrived to Lima around 2am! Was the flight so short? Not at all. Buenos Aires is two hours ahead of Lima, so actually we arrived at 4am, that’s why I was feeling tired. Anyway a good thing of a delayed flight is the fact you arrive to the airport while nobody is arriving, haha. So, it’s pretty easy to go through customs. It took a bit long until our bags came out, but it wasn’t too bad. Before leaving Buenos Aires, I was able to arrange the taxi and a cab was waiting fo…

Personally, I prefer to discover a city just by my own.  I mean, I don't like going with a guided tour. But this time was different. My boss came to Lima during Easter and before being able to travel to our destinations in South America, we had to spend some free time in Lima. He has been here several times, but never could know the city, always was running from one place to another. Anyway, he wanted to take a tour and I chose this one, because I wasn't at the Parque de la Reserva befo…

The Pre-Pre-Pre meet-up

At 6:30 pm we met again in front of the church and with a few cabs we went to Barranco. After waiting a little bit on the main square Yadi showed us around. We had a tradition to walk over a bridge, the sign bridge, with your eyes closed. Heey, that was just like a dutch ‘Polonaise’ J If you kept your eyes closed till you are over the bridge, your wish will come true! I don’t know how many wishes will come true J . At the other side of the bridge Mark found a guy with a guitar and he bo…

I couldn’t believe it, I was back home!!! I was able to communicate to my mom while I was in Miami, so she sent a taxi to pick me up from the airport. Doing customs wasn’t bad, since I left the plain early, but picking up the bags took a long time!!! Actually the longest was getting out of the baggage claim area. In Lima you have to press a button in order to know if they are gonna check your bags or not. Anyway, 2 flights from Miami arrived at same time and both of them were full, …

Hey, I said for men only! :) First of all, don't worry: I'm not an insane person that would expose a disrespectful blog with outrageous content (I won't even paste a pic)! I just wish to share with you the specificity of the peruvian girls I met. I want it to be instructive first, maybe funny and of course if it can encourage TBs friends to come and visit me, who will complain?! ahahaha.... Well men, if you like swedish styled girls, tall blond haired with blue…

As for me Latin America is one of the most fascinating regions in the world, it was just a question of time when my wandering shoes would bring me there. What should I say? The trip was all this: amazing, a bit stressful, unforgettable, exiting, fascinating, genuine...all in one?...just great.
