Food is delicious. Ridiculously delicious. Peruvian cuisine is some of the best in the world. People are poor and there's crazy amounts of pollution that your eyes will hurt. But the food is so amazing. I gained 12lbs while i was there for only 2 weeks! Pardos Chicken is like the basic pollo a la brasa place but those pollo places are everywhere! 1/4 of a chicken and french fries and salad could cost you as little as a $1.25. It's pretty nuts. The comida criolla is amazing! Can't really go wrong with Lomo saltado which is tasty strips of steak, onions, tomato and french fries in amazingsauce. The empanadas and alfajores and lucuma mousse cake at san antonio's is delicious also. everything is super fresh and delicious. I would avoid the Chifas (chinese restaurants) mainly b/c if you're in Peru, eat the Peruvian food (though the Chinese population is enormous there-3million chinese peruvians, about 4.5 million asian people out of Lima's 8million population- so maybe the chifas are good). There are sooooo many different fruits that aren't anywhere else in the world. Try all the fruits! they're all delicous. Peru is famous for huge corn and millions of types of potatoes too. So good!! mmm..

yadilitta says: Lima's airport didn't use to be very nice, but now it's a very good one. It's well organized and clean - well at least inside. I can say that's a different world inside and outside it. If you are coming for 1st time to Peru, it might be a shock leaving the airport because there are so many people o...
