Lillehammer is a small town with around 50.000 inhabitants lying just north of Oslo. Lillehammer is most famous for hosting the 1994 winter Olympics which has been described as the best Olympics ever.
Dont miss the olympic ski slopes from the Olympics. They offer challenges for beginners as well as experts. Not too far north of Lillehammer you find Hunderfossen Familypark. It's open both summer and winter and offers a wide range of activities and things to see. Closer to Lillehammer, you find Lilleputthammer. It's a miniature version of Lillehammer. Another place that are interesting are Maihaugen. It's a very old settlement and are today and open air museum. It tells the story of the people here and goes as far back as 300 years.

It was Saturday morning and the alarm went off around 06:45 am. It takes a while to drive out to Lillehammer and since i had to get home later its better to get up bright and early.I got in my car at 08:10 am and texted Liz to let her know i was on my way. 8 am and Gudny texted me to let me know she was leaving home. That was my signal to get ready... only this time, I was actually already up. ;o)

Lillehammer, home of the 94' winter olympics. There was a sign entering town from back then(missed photo opp.) and other reminders it was there including the ski jump paths up the hill from town. There was a cool metal cutout sort of sign from the games as well(see pics). Lillehammer was host of the 1994 Winter Olympics, and the kinda still lives off of that. You can see signs of it all over the city. :o)
