Lillehammer, home of the 94' winter olympics. There was a sign entering town from back then(missed photo opp.) and other reminders it was there including the ski jump paths up the hill from town. There was a cool metal cutout sort of sign from the games as well(see pics). This is a quaint town on the northern end of the largest lake in norway(lake mjosa), it is cool to visit because most of the shops and tourist stores are all on one street so you can find a place to park and hit it all in on…

Lillehammer was host of the 1994 Winter Olympics, and the kinda still lives off of that. You can see signs of it all over the city. :o) I hadn't been to Lillehammer in ages, so it was fun to be back there.  We just strolled the main street and went by some stores along the way. A friend from my program and I went to Lillehammer.  I had promised myself I'd make it to that former Olympic city while in Norway this summer, and once the Beijing games started, how could I not? We took the train, which was supposed to be just over 2 hours to Lillehammer.  Only, two stops before Lillehammer they told us we had to get out of the train b/c of a signal failure, and that a taxi would take us the rest of the way.  Luckily there were only about 20 people left on …
