Lil Hut Fish & Chips Morro Bay Reviews
non-oily fish and chunky clam chowder soup -- makes me go back Aug 30, 2014
"Lil' Hut" is a family owned and operated restaurant specializing in seafoods, steaks and other fast-to-order-foods.
This place has two dining options -- indoor restaurant and an outdoor patio. We stay at the outdoor patio -- more fun and down-to-earth. For outdoor dining, place orders at kiosk window, order number is on the receipt and then wait to be called out.
Our usual orders are combo with chips, fish and fried oyster (or whatever we crave for during a visit.) This past Saturday, we had fried squid for the combo meal, We also had shrimp tacos, crabby burgers, clam chowder soup and fries. Fish in our combo meal are juicy, meaty and not oily. Shrimp tacos, I didn't know its fried...I thought it were broiled that's why I ordered it. I do not recommend the shrimp taco; batter for shrimp is hard although greens are fresh and crunchy. Clam chowder soup is always creamy and chunky. Crabby patty taste authentic -- no fillers nor imitations but only real crab meat. Sodas are refillable, but soda cups should bring in at the kiosk.
Prices are in the high ranges; I think. Our damage was close to fifty "bucks!"
Our previous two visits were not busy, but latest visit was. Long queue, boy who penned our orders is with attitude, and it took a long time to wait for our orders to be ready. It was a three-day weekend, so that's a given situation (?) but I thought they should add more staff during national holidays?
There were not enough tables too, so my party had to stay on separate tables away.
Nice salty, fresh air comes in at the patio, and during the winter when air is cold, they have heaters for warming tools.
P.S. sorry no foodie pics, I was too hungry to snap a few...
