Life During and After Katrina
Life During and After Katrina Reviews
Jan 31, 2008
It has been over two years since Katrina and little has changed, the hope of the residents is slowly fading. The only thing getting higher in New Orleans is the cost of living and rent.
It is said that a picture tells a thousand words and I am hopeful that is true, I am out of words to describe this and must now rely on my photos. I hope they convey the story of what I saw and the effect that it had on the people of New Orleans. I hope the story that I am telling does justice to what has happened and is still happening. I am also hopeful that I relate the beauty in the people I have met and the power of their hope. |

my trip to the cresant city with dillon Dec 09, 2005
Dillon and i went to new orleans looking for work and were soon employed. We probably made a mistake taking the first jobs we found though.there were many good paying jobs we missed. It was still a verry dangerous place, and your best bet was to stay on or near bourban ST to be safe.We took a greyhound and arived with about 100$ between us and a few clothes. But things worked out and we had the time of our lives.I WOULD NEVER GO ALONE.Be carfull and walk down the middle of the ST,the bad guys hide in the sunken doorways and you,l wake up in the hospital with empty pockets. mardy gras was fun if you like huge crowds, way loud music, strong drinks and bare bresteses. Directly across canall ST from bourban ST is a greek gyro joint the food is plenty and verry good. after about 8.00 PM the only place to eat is KRYSTALS and its expencive so eat early.

I am sitting here thinking of everything that has happened in my life and the changes since Katrina went through the Gulf Coast, the damage to New Orleans and the remainder of the coastal areas, the levies failing in the 9 th ward, the media coverage, the times I have been back to New Orleans and the people… Katrina |
