Read some beer in Downtown LA Oct 14, 2011
This bar has a Library feel to it with the place looking like a Library. They have books all around and you can take them down and read them while your having a drink. They have some local beers from around Los Angeles here and it is a fun vibe. The place is small and they also do have some bar food like hamburgers and fires. Drinks or normal for LA from $6 beer + to $10 mixed drinks. The place does have a "high" class feel to it as well so you will not see hipsters here. You will see more workers here in suits. A good spot for some drinks and to hang out with a few friends to start a night out in Downtown Los Angeles.

Great little bar with good decor and good drinks Jun 03, 2011
We went here after dinner at The Standard in downtown LA. The place is small, doesn't have a lot of seating; however it attracts the young, 'hip' crowd of the changing culture of downtown LA. Decor resembles an actual library inside. The menu is written on a chalkboard across the bar. The bar has a great selection of beer (a few on tap and a lot in bottles). The music was good, and not too loud. You could talk to one another without the need to scream. I ended up buying two rum & cokes for about $20 including tip and then another round of the same + 2 shots of Kamakazi's for a total of $40 including tip. Not too bad. Prices are reasonable and it's in a good neighborhood. Highly recommended...
