Library Bar & Grill Washington Reviews
Complimentary buffet with happy hour drink specials Nov 04, 2010
The Library Bar & Grill hasn't been there for more than a year. They open at 5pm and have happy hour specials that are accompanied by a chef's choice buffet...usually rice, wings, a veggie, salad, and sometime cupcakes. It's an open area, but I usually sit at the bar.
There are several TVs available and it's a great place for Superbowl sunday or for the college basketball playoffs....or whatever sports are on. I guess you can categorize it as a sports bar or just a casual neighborhood bar where they play R&B and some hip hop in the background. The normal bartender is really slow; sometimes I can sit at the bar for quite a while before he comes my way. He makes good drinks, they are inexpensive, but he can't handle lots of people.
You can't go wrong if you start here and go somewhere else or kick it here for the remainder of the night. I always go on a Friday; on other nights, they have kareeokee night, open mics, performances, and the like.
If you park right on 12th, you have to feed the meter until 10pm and some places are only 1 hour parking. Park on the side streets and try not to irritate the neighbors by blocking the driveways.
