Libra Guesthouse Chiang Mai Reviews
Worth A Stay Jan 11, 2012
Depending on your needs/budget, Libra could be a great stay. The best thing about it is the personal service-- it really is a family-run guesthouse and the warmth and care is palpable. Also, it means that you may not have the loud, obnoxious farang company you may find elsewhere (unless that's your thing) because it is run like a guesthouse with certain expectations of common courtesy and not dragging bar girls home at 3am. Pui (the owner) is quick to offer help and advice, as well as putting up her own money in advance for activities, etc. you may be interested in. She sent someone a few days early to buy a bus ticket for me up to Chiang Rai, and weeks later when I wasn't even staying at Libra, she wrote down some information and translations on other destinations for me. The rooms are small and meager-- mine was air conditioned and comfortable. The bathrooms are the typical toilet and shower in one, but the water was hot. I was travelling with an expensive mountain bike, so I used my own padlock on the door as an extra precaution. The hammocks in the garden are a nice place to relax and read, and the proximity to Somphet market in the NE is nice.
