Liberty is known for the first daytime bank robbery in the U.S. which was reportedly done by the James Gang in 1866. You can still view the jail today and watch bank robbery re-enactments which is done yearly. Liberty was also involved in the Battle of Lexington which is a nearby town where they reinforced troops unsuccessfully in the Battle of Liberty. William Jewel school is also near which has a lot of history with the war and has Union soldiers buried on Campus.

Liberty is a suburb of Kansas City and has an abundant activities that you can do on a daily basis. The historic square could take up your whole day exploring. Enjoy the town and all that it has to offer.
