Lhatse Kitchen Lhaze Reviews
simple and good Jul 19, 2010
Lhatse kitchen is located in a huge, fairly new, white building that also houses the Shanghai hotel. It's right in the center of Lhatse, close to the main intersection.
The restaurant has a cosy Tibetan style interior and offers an English menu with simple but tasty Tibetan, Chinese, Nepalese and Western dishes. The veggie noodles I had were superb, though the tomato soup was interesting (but not bad)as it contained only tomatoes, no other ingredients at all.
The staff is very friendly but not too efficient or pro-active. I ordered a banana lassi which never came. After sope enquiring it turned out they were out of bananas but never came to ask whether I wanted something else.
The proprietor however is a very friendly and charismatic man who happily posed for a picture.
Great place to stop for lunch en route between Shigatse and Tingri.
